We are looking for a highly experienced Kubernetes/Linux engineer to test a confidential technical environment involving Kubernetes ingress and production-style troubleshooting. You must be very comfortable with Linux, Kubernetes, kubectl, and understand what realistic command outputs, remediation paths, and incident workflows should look like inside a large engineering organisation. We are specifically looking for someone who has worked in real production environments and has previous on-call or incident-response experience. This is not an implementation or support role. Your job will be to act as an experienced engineer, work through a technical setup, and give direct feedback on and whether the workflow reflects how things are actually handled. We especially want someone confident enough to say, “this is not how an engineer/team would do this,” and explain why. Full details, access, and commercial context will only be shared after NDA signature. This is a short-term role: we expect either 0.5–1 day initially, then a further 0.5 day the following week. Weekend work is fine. If the engagement goes well, this may become an ongoing arrangement for a couple of days per month across multiple projects. Ideal background • Strong Linux command-line skills • Strong Kubernetes production experience • Experience debugging ingress / service / endpoint / readiness / DNS issues • Prior on-call or incident-response experience • Able to provide clear written feedback and practical suggestions To apply, please include • Your years of Kubernetes production experience • A short note on your on-call/incident background • Which Kubernetes environments/controllers you’ve used • One example of a relevant production incident you’ve worked on

I have around 3+ years working with Kubernetes in production environments, mainly on AWS, handling real workloads and scaling concerns rather than just setup. I’ve been involved in on call and incident response situations where I had to troubleshoot live issues, read kubectl outputs quickly, and identify root causes under pressure, especially around networking, failing pods, and misconfigured ingress. I’ve worked with EKS, Nginx Ingress, Helm, and common controllers for deployments, autoscaling, and service exposure. One example was diagnosing a production outage caused by an ingress misconfiguration combined with incorrect service routing, where traffic was silently failing I traced it through logs and events, fixed the routing, and stabilized the system without downtime.

Hi, I’m a Kubernetes/Linux engineer with 16+ years of infrastructure experience and strong hands-on background in production Kubernetes troubleshooting and ingress debugging. I understand this is not an implementation task you need someone who can step into a confidential scenario and respond like a real production engineer: validate symptoms, interpret kubectl outputs, isolate root cause, and explain realistic remediation paths and incident workflows. I can support you with: • Deep Linux + kubectl troubleshooting (networking, DNS, services/endpoints, readiness/liveness) • Ingress/controller debugging (NGINX Ingress, Traefik, ALB Ingress, Istio gateways) • Incident-style approach: triage → mitigation → rollback → postmortem actions • Clear written feedback with practical next steps and operational improvements I’ve worked in high-availability environments where uptime and response time matter, and I’m comfortable working under NDA with limited context. We can finalize the budget depending on the scope and duration. Best regards, SaD

You want production validation. I will review your Kubernetes ingress setup and incident workflows to ensure they match real world engineering standards. 1) Which cloud provider or environment is the ingress currently running on? 2) What specific monitoring or logging tools are used in your current setup? 3) Are you looking for feedback on a specific ingress controller like NGINX or Istio? We will help you test your systems by stepping into the role of an on call engineer to see how well the current processes hold up. If something feels clunky, confusing, or doesn't match how a team would actually handle a live outage, we will tell you straight away. Our goal is to make sure your troubleshooting steps are practical, your error logs are actually useful, and your overall incident response feels like it belongs in a professional engineering environment rather than a theoretical setup. I will audit the Linux and Kubernetes architecture to ensure the ingress configuration, command line outputs, and remediation paths are technically sound and industry compliant. We will analyze the resource limits, network policies, and RBAC configurations against production best practices. By stress testing the incident workflows using standard debugging tools, we will identify gaps in observability, help you refine your runbooks, and ensure the environment reflects the realities of managing containerized services at scale. Thanks, Bharat

I’ve spent 8+ years debugging Kubernetes and Linux in real production environments, including ingress, service, endpoint, readiness, and DNS incidents — this is exactly the kind of workflow review I do best. For this project, I’ll assess your confidential setup the way an on-call engineer would: validate whether outputs, escalation paths, and remediation steps are realistic; identify anything that feels “off”; and give direct, practical feedback on how a real team would handle it. Key strengths: • Strong Linux/kubectl troubleshooting under pressure • Production incident and on-call experience • Clear written feedback with actionable fixes and realism checks Relevant experience: I’ve worked with Kubernetes on EKS, GKE, and self-managed clusters using NGINX Ingress and Traefik, and have handled incidents involving broken ingress routing, misconfigured readiness probes, and DNS/service discovery failures. Approach: review the environment, work through the scenario as an experienced engineer, document what is realistic vs. not, and provide concise recommendations for improving the workflow and incident handling. I can start quickly, work within NDA, and deliver the initial review in 0.5–1 day, with a follow-up the next week if needed. Happy to discuss the setup further.

Hello, I understand that the main technical challenge in this role is ensuring effective troubleshooting and feedback on Kubernetes ingress setups in a production environment. This matters because any misconfigurations or overlooked issues could lead to downtime or degraded performance, which can significantly impact user experience. My experience with Linux command-line tools and Kubernetes has equipped me with the skills to identify and address such issues effectively. With over five years of experience in Kubernetes production environments, I have worked extensively with ingress controllers and have a solid understanding of service, endpoint, and readiness probe debugging. My on-call experience includes handling incidents related to DNS resolution failures, where I utilized kubectl to analyze logs and troubleshoot issues in real time. This aligns well with your need for practical suggestions and clear feedback on technical setups. My approach would involve reviewing the existing Kubernetes configurations, running diagnostic commands to pinpoint issues, and providing actionable feedback based on my findings. I would prioritize identifying potential failure points in the ingress setup and ensuring that incident workflows are documented appropriately for future reference. Could you clarify the specific Kubernetes environment you are currently using? Also, are there particular incident scenarios you want to focus on during this testing phase? Best regards, Shaun

Debugging Kubernetes ingress issues in production environments is tricky - especially when you need realistic incident workflows that match how actual engineering teams handle outages. I've built VPS infrastructure for production systems and know how kubectl troubleshooting flows should look when services are down and engineers are under pressure. I'd start by reviewing the current test scenarios against real-world patterns - checking if the kubectl commands, log analysis steps, and escalation paths actually match what happens during 3am incidents. Can provide direct feedback on what feels artificial versus authentic based on actual on-call experience. Check out my infrastructure work at ffulb.com. Once I can access the test environment and see the current workflows, should be straightforward to identify gaps and suggest improvements.

Hi, I’m very interested in this engagement — this kind of production-realism validation is exactly the kind of work I enjoy. On-call / Incident Background: I’ve handled multiple on-call rotations where I’ve debugged live production issues involving service downtime, ingress failures, DNS misconfigurations, and pod readiness problems. I’m familiar with incident workflows, escalation paths, and postmortem analysis — including identifying gaps in process and tooling. Environments & Controllers Used: - Managed Kubernetes (AWS EKS, DigitalOcean Kubernetes) - NGINX Ingress Controller - CoreDNS debugging - Helm-based deployments - CI/CD pipelines integrated with Kubernetes - Monitoring with Prometheus + Grafana Example Production Incident: In one case, we faced intermittent 502 errors on a production API. After investigation, I identified a mismatch between readiness probes and actual application startup time, combined with aggressive ingress timeouts. This caused traffic to be routed to unready pods. I adjusted probe configurations, tuned ingress settings, and implemented better alerting — which stabilized the system and prevented recurrence. I’m available for the short-term engagement (including weekends) and open to ongoing collaboration if it’s a good fit. Looking forward to hearing more after NDA. Thanks!
