I will be taking two English-speaking visitors through the Ikebukuro Disaster Prevention Centre in Tokyo and need someone who can switch smoothly between Japanese and English on the spot. The tour will run for about two hours; during that time you will stand with us, listen to the staff explanations and demonstrations, then relay them to my guests in clear, casual English. Because the atmosphere is informal, I do not need honorific or highly formal wording—just accurate, friendly interpreting that keeps the pace of the tour. No printed or digital documents will be involved; it is purely live conversation and Q&A as we move through each station of the centre. You should be a native Japanese speaker or hold JLPT N1-equivalent skills, and feel comfortable translating technical terms related to disaster preparedness if they come up. Punctuality is essential as the centre runs on a fixed schedule. Deliverable: your presence on site in Ikebukuro for the agreed two-hour slot, providing real-time Japanese↔English interpretation throughout the tour.
