I am seeking a freelance legal assistance to file a consumer complaint against Excitel Broadband through the e-Jagriti portal ([login to view URL]). I paid approximately ₹11,000 for a one-year broadband plan. However, within just three months of usage, the service has been severely unreliable, with around 10 service breakdowns, each outage lasting anywhere from one day to as long as ten days. Despite repeated complaints, Excitel has failed to provide stable and continuous service, which amounts to a deficiency in service under consumer protection laws. When I requested a resolution or refund for the unused portion of the plan, Excitel stated that, as per their internal policy, I am required to continue using the service regardless of its unreliability, and that I must either “use it or forgo it,” with no refund or compensation. I believe this stance is unfair, arbitrary, and in violation of consumer rights, as a paid annual service cannot be forced upon a consumer when it consistently fails to meet basic service standards.
