Hello, I am not a programmer but I have bought a program to be installed on a Debian based system. It is a DEB file and the person who sold me the program has tragically passed away.
So I try to install the software by running sudo dpkg -i (filename) in terminal
I have tried to use gdebi as well without success.
have tried to download the file from different browsers but without success.
the error code when I type in the terminal sudo dpkg -i (file name) is as follows:
dpkg-deb: error: `[login to view URL] 'is not a debian format archive
dpkg: error processing archive [login to view URL] (--install):
subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
Wondering if anyone can help me solve this problem in any way?
