The top item on my to-do list is repairing the masonry around an existing chimney. This is a repair job rather than new construction, so I need the damaged areas brought back to a solid, weather-tight condition without altering the original appearance. What the work involves: • On-site inspection of the chimney to confirm all trouble spots • Careful removal of loose or failing mortar and bricks • Repointing and replacement with matching materials • Final sealing or waterproofing to keep moisture out • Clean-up of the work area Once the chimney is sound, I will also have some interior drywall patching and a few minor electrical adjustments to wrap up the project. If you can handle those tasks as well, great—otherwise I can schedule them separately. Please tell me about similar chimney repair projects you have completed and the typical timeline you would need from assessment through clean-up.

Hi, I’ve handled chimney masonry repairs and repointing projects where preserving the original look while restoring full weather protection was the priority. I can inspect, repair, and seal your chimney to bring it back to a solid, long-lasting condition. My approach includes a detailed on-site assessment, careful removal of deteriorated mortar/bricks, color-matched repointing, selective brick replacement, and proper sealing/waterproofing to prevent future moisture issues—all while maintaining the existing appearance. Typical timeline: Inspection & assessment: 1 day Masonry repair & repointing: 1–3 days (depending on damage) Sealing + cleanup: 1 day I can also assist with drywall patching and minor electrical work to complete the project, or coordinate with trades if preferred. Quick questions: Location of the property? Approximate chimney height/condition (any photos)? Any active leaks or structural cracks? Easy roof access available? Preferred start timeframe? Thank you, John.

Hi, I’m Matthew, a structural engineer with experience in masonry repair and restoration. I understand you need chimney masonry repair while keeping the original look, and I can inspect, remove damaged areas, repoint with matching materials, and fully seal it for long-term protection. I recently completed a similar chimney repair where I restored damaged brickwork and stopped water leaks successfully. I can start quickly and usually complete this type of work in a few days depending on site condition. Do you already know how severe the damage is, or would you like me to assess it first?
