trying to use json_decode on utf8 json with MATLAB 2015

Job Description:

I have a big json file ([login to view URL]) that i would like to decode in matlab using json_decode.

The decode fails because the file contains region names with some letters in local alphabet.

to have the matlab json_decode function working, the special caracter could be removed.

so for this project i need someone to write in matlab a script that process the json (or geojson) so that json_decode is possible.

For testing purpose, i have attached a smaller version of the geojson file in [login to view URL] so you can test quicker : keep in mind that the project will be completed when [login to view URL] can be loaded properly, not just [login to view URL]

here is a piece of code:

fileName='[login to view URL]';

str = fileread(fileName);

data = json_decode(str);

and the error i get:

Error using json_decode

Parse error at character 1023491:

perties": ...
