Project Title and Description:
Title: To design stress-strain measuring system for use in aircraft structure analysis.
Back ground: To provide a real data on the stress and strain experienced by the aircraft during flight, an aircraft has to carry an in-flight stress-strain measuring system. This real flight data will further improve the design of he aircraft.
Objective: Based on Boeing 737 aircraft, a measuring system to measure stress and strain at 20 locations on the aircraft wing will be designed using off-the-shelf components.
Specification: Maximum strain (Approximate), 4% .
All data must be displayed on a computer screen
at real time.
Project specifications :
All designed components must be submitted with detail drawing and calculation where appropriate.
All off-the-shelf components must include manufacture data sheets.
All project must include the calculation of the cost required to build prototype device.
System layout and installation layout must be included where appropriate .
All assumptions and facts used in this project must be given in details
Each instrument shall be able to operate for at least 15 minutes without possibility of failure (from ‘on the paper’ point of view).
