We are designing a product for which a latching push button would be very useful. By this I mean the user will press a button (approx 45mm in diameter) approx 10mm into the product and let go. The button will operate a momentary contact microswitch and the mechanical latching mechanism will keep the microswitch on, until the button is pressed again when the microswitch will be released.
The effect is essentially similar to a latching push button electrical switch, but we wish to explore separating the latching mechanism and the switch and using a simple momentary contact microswitch.
So, we require a drawing showing the working of the latching mechanism.
The mechanism needs to be simple and low cost to make and be very reliable and ideally be of a standard proven design.
We would really only want bids from people who know they can solve the problem, rather than bids to go away and think about it !
As an alternative, if a very reliable low cost (0.5 USD or less) latching 13A 230V CE approved microswitch can be found, this would also be accepted as a solution to our problem. I can provide some more details if this kind of solution is proposed.
