As you mentioned, one of your requirements to bid for this project is the ability to showcase a cast or forged metal component. Consequently, I am sharing with you one of my work samples; a CGI rendering of a cast metal lamp which I designed using SolidWorks. It was rendered on KeyShot displaying sand-cast iron against machined steel on the same part, showcasing both materials' unique aspects. My extensive knowledge and experience in using professional tools such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya and AutoCAD coupled with hands-on skills in SolidWorks will greatly enable me to perform parametric modelling with precise dimensions that you need. My ability to render images in photorealistic quality has received positive feedback consistently throughout my career. Furthermore, being an engineer by background gave me the acumen necessary to execute complex 3D designs accurately. Working as a freelancer for six years has allowed me to have flexible working hours and give dedicated attention to each project. CASTING I am interested in supporting your long-term engineering CGI and product modelling requirement. My background is in mechanical engineering and CAD-based product development, and the workflow you have described closely matches the type of work I can undertake — particularly building accurate 3D models from drawings, dimensions, photographs and other reference information rather than relying on client-supplied STEP/CAD files. The attached example demonstrates this approach. The cast component was reconstructed in 3D by interpreting the available 2D engineering drawings, including orthographic and sectional views, and translating them into workable geometry. The work involved establishing the main dimensions and interfaces, modelling the cast body, bosses, mounting features, bores, ribs, fillets and machined areas, and checking the completed geometry against the source drawings.
