Hi, one thing worth settling before anyone quotes you. How far does the branding need to go? SharePoint Online lets you change theme colours, fonts, the logo and the header layout, and you can build pages out of web parts. But you can't rewrite the page chrome like a normal website. Past that point it needs SPFx, which is a React based extension deployed through your tenant's app catalog. Same word, very different amount of work. So the answer changes what you're buying. If a designer has given you a mockup, I'd want to see it before saying which route this is. Second thing. If custom work is needed, someone with SharePoint Admin rights has to approve the package in the app catalog. Worth checking now that you have that access. I'm a React and TypeScript developer, which is what SPFx is built on, though I'll be straight with you, my SharePoint work is limited.
