I am a senior administrator working with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and Zoho, and split delivery across one domain is a job where the routing direction decides everything. The key decision is which platform stays authoritative for the domain. MX continues pointing at Zoho, and Zoho forwards mail for the management addresses to Microsoft 365, with the domain added to Microsoft as internal relay rather than authoritative. If it is left as authoritative, Exchange rejects mail for every Zoho user as a recipient it does not know, which is the usual cause of bounces in a setup like this. Pointing MX at Microsoft instead would mean moving all thirty mailboxes, which you do not want. Sequence: domain verified in Microsoft without touching MX, one test mailbox built, mail migrated by IMAP with folders intact, calendar and contacts exported and imported, then routing switched for that one address only. Zoho stays untouched throughout, nothing is deleted, and no DNS change happens without your approval. SPF updated to authorise both platforms, DKIM signing for each, DMARC checked before enforcing. Then all six mail flow directions tested, plus replies, aliases, Teams invitations and calendar acceptance. Training by screen share plus a written procedure for adding or removing a user yourself.
