Currently we have two Brick and Morter stores that use an older POS (Point Of Sale) system that stores the inventory data in FoxPro database files (.dbf). We also have an osCommerce store. Currently we have no way of getting inventory from the POS system to OSC.
We are looking for a simple GUI "Go Between" application that will allow us to import data from the POS system into OSC. The application must have the ability to:
1. Read in the DBF files and store the data in another database, possibly MS Access if stand alone app or MySql if web app.
a. Combine the inventory data from 2 stores (gg and bp)
2. Have an interface so that we can:
a. Verify and Edit prices
b. Add Descriptions
c. Add image names and locations but not necessarily store the images in the Go Between application.
d. Verify, create and edit osc product attributes like sizes (i.e. Small, Medium, Large, Shoe Size...)
e. Select products for import into OSC or skip import
f. View, sort and edit data in different ways, for instance, view all/select products from a specific manufacturer. View, sort and edit data from a category (i.e. shoes, pants, tees...)
3. Import into osCommerce
a. Automatically setting existing products "inactive" if they have a quantity of 0 or less (-1, -2 ...)
b. Overwriting prices
c. Include product attributes, including creating new attributes if necessary
d. Delete products that no longer have inventory and/or products that we choose to delete.
e. Copy (via FTP) new images from a location to the osc images directory during upload.
I've attached the dbf files from the POS system to give an idea of the data that you will be working with.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
