We want to convert a Windows Mobile Application into Andriod application plus adding some functionalities like taking of photo before and after the work and capturing of the barcodes of the location or the equipment. The Windows Mobile Application allows for work orders to be downloaded from the server. The application can operate in and online/offline mode. When there is no network for online access, the user can work on the downloaded work orders. When there is a network, the updated work can be updated back to the server. Work order can have checklists and capturing of parameters like taking temperature, airflow rates, etc. There are functions which will allow new work orders to be created, by attaching a camera taken photo together with a bar code scan of the equipment or location of the work to be performed.
The GUI has to be redesigned to take advantage of the resolutions of new Android devices.

At the end of the project, the source code and documentation of how the application is to be build has to be provided.
We also need the device to be able to read 1d/2d bar-codes via the camera. If possible to make use of the android camera using open source Zxing library or any other alternatives.
We would like to add the barcode and picture capturing capability to enter new works by taking a picture of the barcode to determine the location and the asset, followed by a taking a picture of the problem. Then when a technical is dispatched to the location, the barcode is scanned to retreive the work order. The technician then perform the work, and when he completed the work, he take a picture of the problem being fixed.
We also need to add to the client to regularly poll the server to see if there is work assigned. The client should update the notification, so that the user can use it to launch the client to see works assigned to him
