Merge functionality in two iPhone apps

I have two very similar iOS apps that run on the xcode simulator. They're both small (i.e., 4 *.m files each). I need help merging them into one program. I’m an experienced Windows programmer, but a novice when it comes to iOS and xcode. I wrote a simple app that displays a large (9000x9000 pixel) image, displays a UISearchBar when the user single-taps on the screen, and repositions the image based on the user’s search selection (based on an x/y pixel location on the image). This app runs correctly on the simulator, but won’t run on an actual iOS device because the image is too large. I have a second app, based on Apple’s PhotoScroller example project, that displays a similarly-sized image, but does so using CATiledLayer and ~1,000 image tiles (in various resolutions as the user zooms). As with the first app, this app allows the user to zoom in and scroll the image. This app works correctly on the simulator and on an actual device (due to the tiling) and contains all of the image files. However it does not have the searching functionality. I’m too much of a newbie to figure out how to merge the tiling functionality in the second app (which uses a UIPageViewController and a storyboard) into the first app (which uses a UIViewController and an xib). Your job is to replace the single image in the first app with the tiling functionality in the second app. The finished project must be based on the first app’s project (i.e., use the existing xib, retain the ability to reposition the map based on the search selection, and retain the comments that are currently in the first project). I think this should only take a couple of hours for someone who is familiar with xcode, storyboards, and view controllers. It’ll also require an understanding of CATileLayer.
