We are custom harvesters and need an application that can help us keep track of the feed we harvest. We have men in the machines that need to keep track of each truck and what time they loaded them and in which field. We have people in the scale house that need to be able to keep track of each weight for each truck and the moisture of the feed. They also need to be able to track how much feed is currently being placed in each pit. We use this information to invoice our customer, pay truckers and job cost analysis.
I have attached a copy of our "Chopper Sheet" this is the paper form the men in the machine use to keep track of each load and what time they were loaded. They also can tell us on this sheet what type of feed they are harvesting, if they are packing or bagging the feed, if they are using inoculant or not, and which machine and header they are using.
I have also attached our " Truck Weight Sheet " form. This is what the people in the scale house use to keep track of each trucks weight and time of each load. It also helps us keep track of how many loads we have had out of each field. If the customer has multiple pits or bags to place the feed, we can keep track of how many tons are going into each bag or pit.
Finally I have attached our "Moisture Sheet" we use this sheet to cook samples of the feed and then we do a moisture adjustment based on our agreement. Most jobs we adjust to 68 moisture or 32 dry matter.
We use the information from all of the sheets and build the job in excel. I have attached a sample of our job spreadsheet. We would like to be able to input all of this information in real time. The men in the machine and the people in scale house inputting all of their data and then the office manager being able to access that data and bill a job and pay truckers without ever having to touch a piece of paper.
Each job is priced differently and mileage on fields are different as well. I would like to set parameters for each field and assign them to a specific job with the correct pricing. I would also like to be able to assign trucks to certain jobs as well and be able to pull a certain truck number and see all of the jobs they have hauled for and the amount they hauled. I would also like to be able to pull a specific job and see what fields we harvested for them, the amount of tons per acre that field made, and the average moisture of that field.
I need a simple way to access a lot of information and compile it in a readable and billable format.
There are harvester apps out there but they do not fit the needs of my specific company. We would be paying a lot of money to use a small portion of that program and still have to do a lot of paperwork in the background.
In my mind I would love to be able to send everyone out with an ipad and they be able to build a job as they go.
