Snow Removal Company Needs Mobile App
The company provides snow removal and other services to commercial enterprises.
Reason For App
The purpose of the app is to collect information for billing purposes.
The app will have two components, an input module and a summary module. The input module will be simple and easy to use. Employees will enter information into their smartphones while at the job site. The Summary module will collect and aggregate information from each employees input module. The summary will be presented in spreadsheet form and viewed from a desktop computer.
The input module will have a simple graphic interface requiring minimal input from the user.
Information entered by employees with the input module will include:
- the name of the business receiving service
- the service rendered
- the number of times that the service was rendered
- the name of the employee providing the service
- snow depth
- before and after photos
- time spent at job site
- exact location where service was rendered.

The number and title of variables like service rendered, or name of business must be easily changed. For example, it must be easily possible to change from 5 services offered 6 services offered or to change the title of a service from “snow removal” to “remove of snow”.
Data collected by the input module must be retained in the phone if an internet connection is lost and it must be uploaded when an internet connection is re-established.
Already Built with Google Sheets
We have already created a functioning prototype of the input and summary module using google sheets. We want a simpler and easier to use interface for employees to input data.
Flow charts and the google sheets prototype of the project can be provided to the successful freelancer.
