I want a fully working PacketFence deployment that gives me complete control over who and what can use my network. Scope of work • Install the latest stable PacketFence on a fresh server (your call on Ubuntu or Rocky/CentOS, as long as it is a supported platform). • Enable Network Access Control so devices are automatically placed in the right VLAN or have the correct ACLs applied. If RADIUS CoA is the best fit for my gear, please implement it; otherwise explain the alternative you choose. • Integrate with my switching and wireless stack—BDCom, Zyxel, and Ubiquiti UniFi. These models must talk cleanly to PacketFence via SNMP/SSH and RADIUS, with automatic quarantine and remediation working in a live demo. • Configure RADIUS authentication: – 802.1X for corporate laptops and staff logins against Active Directory/LDAP. – MAC Authentication Bypass for printers, IoT, and any device that can’t speak 802.1X. • Build a branded captive portal (logo and colour palette supplied) that supports guest self-registration, policy acceptance, and a BYOD onboarding flow. The page must load over HTTPS with either Let’s Encrypt or my internal CA—whichever you confirm is most practical. • Provide a guest role and VLAN that can only reach the internet and any other subnets I explicitly allow. • Document everything in a clear handover guide: diagrams, switch configs, PacketFence policies, and certificate renewal steps. Acceptance test 1. Plug a Windows laptop into a test port, log in with an AD account, and watch it land in the correct production VLAN. 2. Connect a printer and verify it passes through MAB into the IoT role. 3. Join a phone to the guest SSID, complete the self-registration form, and confirm it reaches the internet but not the corporate network. Deliverables • Configured PacketFence virtual or bare-metal server • Switch/UniFi config snippets and RADIUS dictionaries • Captive portal theme files • Step-by-step documentation (PDF or Markdown) I will provide remote access to the server, switch/UniFi controllers, and a small lab environment for validation. Let me know your estimated timeline and any questions about the gear so we can get started right away.

Hello, I will deploy and configure a fully working Network Access Control (NAC) solution using the latest stable PacketFence on a supported Linux distribution (Ubuntu or Rocky/CentOS). I will implement the core NAC functionality, ensuring devices are automatically placed into the correct VLAN or have the appropriate ACLs applied, likely leveraging RADIUS Change of Authorization (CoA). I will integrate PacketFence with your mixed switching/wireless stack (BDCom, Zyxel, UniFi) via SNMP/SSH and RADIUS to enable automatic quarantine and remediation. I will configure secure RADIUS authentication for 802.1X (against AD/LDAP) and MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB) for IoT/Printers. Finally, I will build a branded captive portal with guest self-registration and BYOD onboarding, secured with HTTPS. 1) Which specific Linux distribution do you prefer for the PacketFence host server? 2) Which model of Ubiquiti UniFi Controller or Security Gateway is currently in use? 3) Which specific authentication backend (Active Directory or pure LDAP) is the target for the 802.1X integration? Thanks, Bharat

You want a fully working PacketFence deployment with Network Access Control that does VLAN and ACL assignment plus a branded captive portal and full handover docs. Success is your acceptance test with Windows 802.1X to the production VLAN, printer MAB to the IoT role, and guest SSID self registration reaching only the internet. First hour I will confirm your switch and UniFi RADIUS settings, then install the latest stable PacketFence on a fresh server and wire a basic RADIUS test with a lab port and SSID. Is Active Directory available as LDAP only or can you provide a domain joined test user for 802.1X validation. For certificates do you prefer Lets Encrypt or an internal CA for HTTPS on the captive portal. Pitfalls are RADIUS CoA support gaps on BDCom or Zyxel, SNMP or SSH access limits, VLAN tagging mismatches, certificate renewal breakage, and MAB collisions on shared MACs. I have deployed PacketFence with 802.1X plus MAB, captive portals over HTTPS, and switch plus UniFi integrations with working quarantine and remediation flows. Can start as soon as remote access is ready and we can run the three acceptance tests, Danylo Podolskyi

Hello, there! I can deliver a fully working PacketFence NAC deployment that enforces role-based access across your wired and UniFi wireless networks, with 802.1X for staff, MAB for non-802.1X devices, and a branded captive portal for guests and BYOD. I’ll deploy the latest stable PacketFence on a supported OS and build the end-to-end workflow so BDCom, Zyxel, and UniFi authenticate cleanly against PacketFence via RADIUS, with dynamic VLAN assignment or ACL enforcement based on the device and identity. Where your gear supports it, I’ll implement RADIUS CoA for immediate re-auth and quarantine changes; if any device model has limitations, I’ll use the appropriate alternative (dynamic VLAN reauth timers, UniFi captive portal integration, or switch-side enforcement) and document the tradeoffs clearly. The portal will be HTTPS with Let’s Encrypt where public DNS is practical, otherwise an internal CA with documented renewal steps, and the guest role will be internet-only with explicit allow-lists for any internal subnets you choose. I’ll provide the required lab demo for your three acceptance tests and hand over a clear guide with diagrams, switch and UniFi snippets, policies, and renewal procedures so you can operate it confidently. Best regards, Ian Brown

Hello, I understand you’re looking for a complete, production-ready PacketFence NAC deployment that gives you deterministic control over network access across wired and wireless infrastructure. I have hands-on experience deploying PacketFence in mixed-vendor environments and integrating it with enterprise switching, UniFi wireless, and directory services to enforce 802.1X, MAB, and guest access policies reliably. My approach would start with installing the latest stable PacketFence on a supported Linux platform and hardening the base system. I’ll then design the access-control logic around roles, VLANs, and/or ACLs, using RADIUS CoA where your hardware supports it to ensure real-time reauthorization. Integration with BDCom, Zyxel, and UniFi will be handled via RADIUS, SNMP, and SSH as appropriate, with careful tuning so quarantine and remediation actions trigger consistently. For authentication, I’ll configure 802.1X against AD/LDAP for corporate endpoints and MAC Authentication Bypass for non-802.1X devices like printers and IoT. I’ll also build a branded captive portal with HTTPS, guest self-registration, and BYOD onboarding, ensuring certificate management is practical and documented. The final delivery will include a live validation in your lab and clear documentation covering configs, policies, diagrams, and ongoing maintenance. Thanks, Asif
