The inventory-import system is the real architectural decision here, not the storefront, I'd build it as a normalized abstraction layer with format-specific adapters (CSV parser, JSON API poller, XML feed processor, SFTP watcher) all feeding into the same core "vehicle import" pipeline, that's what lets the official dealership feed connect later without rebuilding anything, only a new adapter gets written, the core logic (dedup by dealership ID + VIN, update-vs-create detection, sold-status marking for missing vehicles) never changes. For the storefront itself, PostgreSQL fits the vehicle database better than a document store, the schema is genuinely relational, dealerships to vehicles to leads, with filtering across make/model/year/price/mileage that benefits from proper indexing rather than document queries. Vehicle comparison and saved/recently-viewed features built client-side with local storage for anonymous users, syncing to account-based storage once a user's logged in, that's standard pattern for ecommerce-style browsing features and keeps it fast without requiring auth for casual browsing. Lead capture forms (Check Availability, Schedule Test Drive, etc.) all feeding into one normalized leads table with vehicle/dealership/source tracking as specified, kept internal-only for this phase exactly as scoped, no external system connections yet.

Anjoma needs to look like a serious automotive marketplace from day one, while the architecture is strong enough to support many dealerships and large inventory volumes later. I can work across both sides of the project—the polished storefront and the inventory/lead infrastructure behind it. I have 5 years of full-stack development experience and have delivered 60+ websites and web applications, including e-commerce, booking and multi-vendor platforms.
