We're building a system that works similarly to sports auto-tracking cameras (e.g. Veo), but with a simpler, classical computer-vision approach — no deep learning or trained models needed. What we need: Camera stitching: Combine footage from two fixed cameras (mounted on one rig, overlapping field of view) into a single panoramic image (~180°), using calibration/homography. The cameras don't move relative to each other, so this should be a one-time calibration applied per frame. Motion-density tracking: From the panoramic feed, detect where players are concentrated (background subtraction / foreground blob density, not per-object classification) and use that to drive an automatic pan/crop — i.e. a virtual camera that follows the action without a human operator. Output: a single, smooth, watchable video stream (no visible seam/ghosting at the stitch line, no jittery panning). What this is NOT: we are not looking for a deep-learning/ball-detection/player-identification system. Classical CV techniques (homography, background subtraction, centroid tracking, Kalman/low-pass smoothing) are the right toolset here — please don't propose a large AI/ML infrastructure buildout. Ideal candidate: Strong hands-on experience with OpenCV (stitching, homography, background subtraction) Has shipped at least one real-time video processing project (not just offline/batch) Comfortable working with two-camera / multi-camera rigs and frame synchronization Bonus: experience with sports or surveillance camera systems

Hi, I am a software engineer with over 16 years of experience, including extensive hands-on work with OpenCV, real-time video pipelines, camera calibration, multi-camera synchronization, and embedded video systems. Your classical computer-vision approach is well suited to this project; I would not introduce unnecessary deep-learning infrastructure. I can develop the complete pipeline from one-time stereo-rig calibration and homography-based panoramic stitching through motion-density analysis and smooth virtual pan/crop output. Particular attention will be given to exposure and color matching, seam placement, blending, timestamp alignment, rejection of irrelevant motion, and Kalman/low-pass control so the final video remains stable and watchable. I can also help optimize the system for its target hardware and support integration into a consumer-grade product through production. Before starting, I would like to confirm the camera models, resolution/frame rate, expected processing hardware, field dimensions, and required output format or streaming protocol. Do you already have synchronized sample footage and calibration captures from the intended rig? Please contact me to discuss details.

Build a classical computer-vision motion-tracking system for a 2-camera rig without deep learning. I’ll implement one-time stereo calibration (intrinsic/extrinsic), per-frame homography-based warping, and panoramic blending to eliminate visible stitch seams/ghosting. For motion-density tracking, I’ll use background subtraction to generate foreground masks from the stitched 180° view, compute a stable density/centroid region of action, then drive a virtual pan/crop that stays smooth and watchable. To prevent jitter, I’ll add temporal filtering (low-pass/Kalman-style smoothing), sensible deadbands, and frame-synchronized processing. Final output will be a single real-time stream with consistent framing around player concentration, no human operator, no object classification, and no ML infrastructure buildout.

Hi, I can build this as a classical real-time computer-vision pipeline using C++/OpenCV and GStreamer, without introducing unnecessary deep-learning infrastructure. The stitching stage will use lens calibration, fixed-camera homography, exposure/colour compensation, seam masks, and controlled blending. Because the rig is static, calibration data can be saved and applied efficiently to every synchronized frame. Action tracking will use background subtraction, morphology, connected foreground regions, and a weighted motion-density heatmap. The virtual camera crop will follow the activity centroid through dead zones, hysteresis, Kalman/low-pass filtering, and velocity/acceleration limits to prevent jitter and abrupt pans. I’ll profile capture, synchronization, stitching, tracking, cropping, and hardware encoding separately. Testing will cover lighting changes, shadows, spectators, partial occlusion, seam crossings, and periods with little motion. Three technical questions: 1. What resolution, frame rate, camera interface, and processing hardware will be used? 2. Are the cameras hardware-synchronised, and what are their lens type, baseline, and overlap? 3. What output resolution, protocol, maximum latency, and crop field of view are required? Best regards, Houssame

Hello, we have experience with OpenCV, real-time video processing, camera calibration, homography, background subtraction, motion tracking and video stabilization, and have carefully reviewed your requirements. We can build a classical computer-vision solution that combines the two fixed camera feeds into a panoramic view and automatically follows the concentrated motion without relying on deep learning or trained models. WORKING FLOW: Camera Calibration → Calibrate both cameras and determine the homography for accurate alignment and stitching. Frame Stitching → Synchronize frames and combine the overlapping views into a seamless panoramic feed. Motion Detection → Use background subtraction and foreground blob density to identify where the activity is concentrated. Virtual Camera → Calculate the optimal pan/crop position from motion density and smoothly follow the action. Smoothing & Output → Apply centroid/Kalman or low-pass smoothing to eliminate jitter and produce a stable, watchable video stream. We will keep the implementation lightweight and focused on OpenCV/classical CV techniques rather than introducing unnecessary AI infrastructure. Hi, I am Adeel. I have built computer vision systems using OpenCV for detection, tracking and background subtraction, including work with camera calibration and homography for combining multiple feeds. For this I would start by locking the homography between your two rigs offline, since they are fixed relative to each other, then apply it per frame with blending at the seam to kill ghosting. Motion density would come from background subtraction, then a Kalman or low-pass filter on the centroid to keep the virtual camera pan smooth rather than jumpy. I would treat the stitching and seam quality as the first milestone, since everything else depends on it, then layer in the tracking and pan logic once that is solid. Are the two cameras genuinely locked in position and orientation, or is there any chance of drift between them over time?

Hi We are available. We recently build a similar multi-camera video processing system using OpenCV for panoramic stitching and classical computer vision. I used homography matrices with feature matching and bundle adjustment for one-time calibration to seamlessly stitch overlapping camera feeds without ghosting or visible seams. I implemented background subtraction (MOG2) paired with spatial density heatmaps and Kalman filtering to calculate the motion centroid, driving a smooth virtual pan/crop in real-time. My fix eliminated video jitter and seam artifacts, ensuring a stable, broadcast-quality panoramic stream for their team. Our suggestion would be to build this as a lightweight, real-time video processing pipeline powered by C++/Python with OpenCV and FFmpeg for high-throughput frame synchronization. We’d use classical homography matrices for fixed dual-camera stitching, background subtraction combined with blob density maps for motion tracking, and a low-pass/Kalman filter for smooth virtual camera panning. This keeps the architecture lean, efficient, and free of unnecessary AI/ML overhead while delivering a seamless 180° action-following output. We are eager to discuss the project further. Reach out to initiate a conversation! Best regards, Quantum Code Solutions

The "no deep learning" call-out is the right instinct here - homography plus background subtraction handles this cleanly and stays fast enough for real-time. My plan: one-time calibration to compute the homography between your two fixed cameras, warp and blend per frame with feathering to kill the seam, then run MOG2 background subtraction on the panorama to get foreground blob density. The virtual camera pan/crop follows the blob centroid, smoothed with a Kalman or low-pass filter so it doesn't jitter. Frame sync between the two feeds I'd handle by timestamp alignment up front. I'd deliver a working stitch on your sample footage first, then layer in the tracking so you can see it evolve. What frame rate and resolution are the two cameras running, and can you share a short clip? - Prateek

Hi, Frame synchronisation decides whether the stitch holds. Two cameras a few frames apart will ghost along the seam whenever anything crosses it, and no amount of blending fixes a homography applied to mismatched moments. Genlock or hardware trigger solves it properly. Without that, the pipeline needs a sync step keyed on a shared event before calibration means anything. The stitch itself is one-time work given a fixed rig, so most of the runtime cost is the per-frame warp and the blend. How are the two cameras synchronised today, and are you working from live capture or recorded files per match? I should be straightforward that my background is application and backend engineering rather than shipped real-time CV. I have built native processing pipelines driven from higher-level orchestration, and I work in C++ and OpenCV, but I have not delivered a sports tracking system. On the panning, the part that decides whether the output is watchable is the smoothing, not the detection. Motion density is noisy, and a virtual camera that chases every blob spike reads as jitter. Constraining velocity and acceleration, with a deadband so small crowd shifts do not move the frame at all, is what makes it look like an operator rather than a tracker. Kind regards, Abel.

Hi there! Getting smooth panoramic stitching from two fixed cameras without visible seams, while also driving a jitter-free auto-pan based on player density, is genuinely hard — many implementations show ghosting at the stitch line or a shaky, unwatchable virtual camera. I've worked with OpenCV on real-time video processing, including homography-based stitching, background subtraction for motion/blob detection, and centroid tracking with Kalman/low-pass smoothing for steady camera movement. I'm comfortable with multi-camera setups and frame sync, and I agree classical CV is the right call here over a heavy deep-learning pipeline, it's faster to tune, easier to debug, and needs no training data. I'll start with a one-time calibration for accurate homography between your two feeds, then build the stitching pipeline to blend the seam cleanly. Next, I'll implement background subtraction for player density across the panoramic frame and drive the virtual pan/crop off that with smoothing, so output feels natural, not jittery. I'll test on sample footage early to validate seam quality and pan behavior before scaling up. Check our work https://www.freelancer.com/u/ayesha86664 Do you have sample footage from your rig I could test calibration and stitching against? Let me know if you're interested and we can discuss it. Best Regards Ayesha

Hello. The hardest part of this Sports Camera Motion-Tracking System is achieving seamless real-time panoramic stitching and smooth motion-density tracking without visible artifacts or jitter, all using classical computer vision methods rather than AI. My approach matches your stack and requirements: 1. Calibrate and compute homography for the fixed two-camera rig once, applying it per frame for stable panoramic stitching with OpenCV. 2. Implement background subtraction and foreground blob density analysis to detect player concentration areas without object classification. 3. Develop a virtual pan/crop system driven by the motion-density data, using Kalman filters and low-pass smoothing to ensure smooth, jitter-free output. 4. Deliver a single, continuous video stream with no visible seams or ghosting, ready for your review as the first milestone. I have shipped a real-time multi-camera video processing system using OpenCV for a surveillance client, handling synchronization and smooth panorama output under strict latency constraints. I also worked on a sports analytics prototype focusing on background subtraction and tracking without ML, which aligns closely with your requirements. This proposal covers the core MVP: calibration, stitching, motion-density tracking, and smooth output. Additional features like UI controls or multi-rig support would be extra. Please share your repo or sample data to start the calibration step. I look forward to your reply. Best,

I represent a Florida-based tech firm processing millions of daily video queries, with top-tier enterprise references. Your classical CV approach is exactly right for this—it guarantees faster performance and lower compute cost than unnecessary Deep Learning models. Here is how we will execute your pipeline in OpenCV: 1. Seamless Stitching: We will use one-time RANSAC homography estimation coupled with a dynamic, energy-based graph cut. This intelligently routes the seam line around moving players, completely eliminating the "ghosting" effect in the overlap zone. 2. Motion Density & Panning: We will use MOG2 background subtraction to map player concentration (blob density). This data will drive a Kalman-smoothed virtual crop, ensuring the automated pan is fluid, 100% jitter-free, and broadcast-ready. This specific architecture delivers sub-frame, smooth tracking at 10x lower latency than ML alternatives. Let’s set up a brief technical chat to discuss your multi-camera frame synchronization and get started.

Hello! I can help you build this dual-camera panoramic tracking setup using a pure classical computer vision pipeline in OpenCV. Handing real-time homography stitching gets tricky when exposed outdoor lighting shifts or slight mechanical vibrations alter the blend zone, which I fix by computing static feature maps once and applying lightweight multiband seam blending per frame. One thing I'd like to confirm: are the two cameras hardware-synchronized at the sensor capture level, or will we need to align incoming timestamps in software? Recently, I built a similar dual-lens video stitching and motion-density tracker that processed panoramic sports footage in real time without heavy deep learning models. Using OpenCV background subtraction paired with Kalman-filtered centroid tracking, the pipeline delivered smooth virtual camera crops while keeping CPU usage minimal. The system delivered steady 60fps panoramic streams with clean, ghost-free stitching across variable outdoor illumination. Best, Ariba

With my extensive background in AI and Full-Stack Software Development, I strongly believe I am the ideal candidate for your Sports Camera Motion-Tracking System Development project. Not only have I worked hands-on with OpenCV for stitching, homography, and background subtraction, but I have also shipped real-time video processing projects rather than solely relying on offline or batch work. This demonstrates my ability to handle the complex demands of a system that requires a single smooth video stream without any visible seam/ghosting and jittery panning. Moreover, given my proficiency in building custom software solutions and my experience with Android and iOS app development using Flutter and React Native, I bring an added advantage of being able to understand not just the camera side but also the final output side of your project. This 360-degree understanding will enable me to calibrate your two fixed cameras for panoramic footage accurately. Additionally, I can leverage my expertise in creating cloud-based solutions to ensure seamless data synchronization between both cameras throughout the process.

Hi there, The key here is keeping the solution simple and real time rather than adding unnecessary AI. We can build the pipeline around classical OpenCV techniques, with fixed camera calibration, panorama stitching and motion density driving a smooth virtual camera. We’ll calibrate the two cameras once, align their overlapping views using homography and handle the stitch area to avoid visible seams or ghosting. From the panoramic frame, we’ll calculate foreground density using background subtraction and use smoothing or a Kalman based approach to control the virtual crop without jitter. Frame synchronization and processing speed will also be handled carefully so the final output stays smooth and watchable. What resolution and FPS are the two cameras using? Are both cameras hardware synchronized? Do you already have the camera rig and sample footage available for testing? Let’s have a quick chat and review the footage and camera setup so we can define the cleanest OpenCV pipeline. Budget and Timeline are placeholders. Regards, Royal Designs (FK)

The core of this job is extracting meaningful positional data from fixed cameras, and the panoramic stitch is the first step, using OpenCV's `findHomography` and `warpPerspective` functions with a calibration matrix derived from known points in the overlapping field of view so the two camera feeds merge into one continuous ~180° image. Then, for motion density, I'll implement background subtraction to isolate moving elements, followed by a connected components analysis to identify blobs and calculate their density within defined regions of the panoramic feed so the system knows where the action is. This density map will drive the pan and crop of the virtual camera feed, focusing on the highest concentration of player movement. A common failure point is jitter in the virtual camera's movement, caused by noisy background subtraction or rapid fluctuations in density. To avoid this, I'll apply a temporal smoothing filter to the density calculations over a small window of frames so the virtual camera movement is smooth and follows the general trend of player concentration rather than reacting to every single movement anomaly. What is the desired frame rate for the output video feed? I have 10 reviews on Freelancer at 5.0, everything delivered on time and on the agreed price so far. Send over the calibration images, the ones showing the overlapping field of view, and I will send back an initial estimate for the work.
