Expert PCB & Circuit Designer for Medical Device

Job Title: PCB Designer & Circuit Builder for Medical Design Product Job Description: We are looking for an experienced and skilled PCB Designer to work on the development of a medical device. The project involves designing a PCB layout, schematic capture, and assembly to meet the specific requirements for a high-quality medical product. Responsibilities: PCB Design & Layout: Design and optimize a multi-layer PCB that meets specific medical-grade specifications. Schematic Design: Create accurate and efficient schematic diagrams for the circuitry and components. Component Selection: Choose components that align with regulatory requirements (such as FDA guidelines) for medical devices. Signal Integrity: Ensure signal integrity and EMC/EMI compliance to ensure reliable performance in medical environments. Thermal Management: Address heat dissipation and manage power distribution to avoid overheating. Prototyping: Collaborate with the prototyping team to build and test PCB designs, identify potential issues, and optimize the design. Compliance & Certification: Ensure that the design complies with medical device standards and regulations, such as IEC 60601 and other applicable industry standards. Testing & Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of the PCB designs, ensuring they function as expected in real-world applications. Documentation: Provide comprehensive documentation for the PCB design, including schematics, PCB layout, bill of materials (BOM), and any supporting documentation required for certification. Skills & Qualifications: Proven Experience: A strong background in designing PCBs for medical devices or other regulated industries is required. CAD Tools: Proficient in industry-standard PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or KiCad. Circuit Design Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, with an understanding of medical device electrical requirements. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with medical device regulations, including safety and compliance standards like IEC 60601, FDA 510(k), and others. Communication: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, manufacturers, and quality assurance personnel. Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Experience in designing PCBs for wearable devices, diagnostic equipment, or other medical instrumentation. Knowledge of low power, battery-operated medical devices. Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other quality management systems in medical product development. Deliverables: Fully designed and tested PCB ready for manufacturing. Complete schematic diagrams and layout files. Bill of Materials (BOM) with part numbers. Test reports and debugging results. All necessary documentation for regulatory submissions.
