This website is a static site of a professional organization of about 30
members. Along with a design update, we would also like the
1. The ability to have certain members with the following permissions:
a. Membership user: Add, Edit and Delete organization
b. Event user: Update the list of upcoming events.
c. Speaker Schedule user: update the list of speakers
d. Admin user: Update all, including other users as they
change every year.
e. Treasurer: Update a treasury report
f. Tip user: enters data in the tip database.
2. The site would have a public portion, and a private portion,
which would require all users to log in.
3. When a user's information is updated, it is updated throughout
the site (i.e. a membership database would be created), both in
the membership roster which can be downloaded and printed,
as well as the individual clickable “business cards.”
4. A database of tips (currently kept in a Microsoft Access on a
local PC) with the ability to generate simple reports (again, it's
already done in Access – it just needs to be put on the web).
The biggest issue we have with the current site is that when we add a
new member, we have to manually add it in three locations. Also,
everything is public, so we cannot post anything we wish to keep
private, like the tip reports.
Also, different members (President, Vice President, Treasurer,
Membership, etc. – about 7) would have a separate place to put their
own message to the users (their own page which they can edit the
