I run FVWM3, and I’d like a clean, self-contained FvwmTabs module that lives under ~/.fvwm/modules and can be loaded from my config with Module FvwmTabs. The config Startfunction includes "ModulePath ${HOME}/.fvwm/modules:+". The ModulePath works well for running modules in a user directory. FvwmTabs is using [login to view URL], which was removed in fvwm 1.0.3. The aim is not to use a symlink from root to ~/.fvwm/modules/[login to view URL], but to remove the symlink approach and instead use a locally installed Perl Tk module (via system package or local::lib), so FvwmTabs loads [login to view URL] from Perl’s standard library paths. Deliverables • FvwmTabs ready to drop into ~/.fvwm/modules without making changes in root directories by the user. • Including required files that have the directory path: ${HOME}/.fvwm/modules. Acceptance The script should start via Module FvwmTabs without errors, manage the required [login to view URL], as well as the ConfigFvwmTabs and FvwmTabs-DefaultSetup config files located in ~/.fvwm/modules.

I can deliver a clean, self-contained FvwmTabs under ~/.fvwm/modules that starts via Module FvwmTabs and works with your existing ModulePath ${HOME}/.fvwm/modules:+. I will remove the symlink approach and make Tk available through Perl’s standard library paths (system perl-tk or local::lib), so no root directory changes are required. Deliverables: working FvwmTabs + ConfigFvwmTabs + FvwmTabs-DefaultSetup in ~/.fvwm/modules, tested to start without errors. Budget: €20 (+ bonus if you like). I can start Saturday.

Hi, I am a Linux desktop and FVWM developer with strong Perl module and packaging experience. For your FVWM3 setup, I will deliver a clean FvwmTabs module that lives entirely in ~/.fvwm/modules and launches with Module FvwmTabs using your existing ModulePath. I have done a similar fix for an FVWM module that broke after upstream Perl dependency changes, where I removed hardcoded paths and root level symlink hacks, then validated the module against both system Perl packages and local::lib installs. For this job I will adjust FvwmTabs so it loads Perl Tk from standard Perl library search paths, add a clear local install option using local::lib when Tk is not available system wide, and ensure ConfigFvwmTabs and FvwmTabs DefaultSetup are found from ~/.fvwm/modules via ${HOME} aware paths.
