About the chat system:
We have an Ajax/PHP/MySQL project that the original programmer left before it was completed. It is a heavily modified open source chat system, the code appears to be pretty modular and documented fairly good internally. It runs on a lighttpd webserver. This project needs to be completed in 3 days, but after that there will be more work with the same system.
If you would like to take a look at the chat, please pm me on the board and I will reply with login info...
The following is needed in the chat system:
All of the ongoing and completed chat rooms are stored in databases, we need a modification to the code where in main rea that once clicked displays the recent history. It will also show the rooms someone is in, the games a person played and weather the game was a win, lose, arbitration or ongoing (ie it doesn't have two results in the result column).
If the game is still ongoing, they will be able to click on a link and go back to the room as though they never left it. If it has been completed the link is no longer active and all users cannot go back to the room.
We also need to make it so that once something has been decided in a room (win and loss or arbitrate) you can't start a new game in it.
While it is possible to bookmark links we need to make it so that only the users that started a game the room can go back and continue in it (without having to start the game all over).
Once a game is completed the wins and losses are stored in a database. If the match is completed (that match has both a winner and a loser) it subtracts the dollar amount from the winner and add it to losers account. It also increases the players win and loses which are stored in another table
