As you may be aware, on dating sites, there is admin area at backend (accessible to admin officers) that may take their value updates from the mySQL database. Incidentally, my script runs cron-jobs at scheduled time intervals, say 10 minutes, to read values and new updates from the mySQL database and put them into the admin table at backend, where they can be seen by admin officers.
Does anyone know how to make the updates to the admin table happen instantaneously as the mySQL database is being updated? That will remove the current unnecessary delay.
(Note Also: You can RULE OUT taking values directly from the frontend, because even that mySQL database which holds the updated values does not take its updates from the frontend, but rather from emails delivered to the site's inbox at cpanel. So, you have to take updates from the mySQL database directly. No choice. Now, how to make the updates to the admin table happen instantaneously?) You cannot set cron job to run at few-minutes intervals either !
Do you know AJAX? That may help. But definitely shortening cron-job scheduled intervals from the current 10 minutes is not the solution that I would approve.
