Wordpress Plugin Development

We are looking for a skilled PHP developer to develop a bespoke Wordpress plugin for us.

You must demonstrate experience in developing Wordpress plugins to be eligible for this project. Please provide examples when you bid.

Wordpress Advertising Plugin Specification

Overview

========

This project will deliver a plug in for Wordpress that will display a number of contextual adverts in the right hand sidebar of a Wordpress template.

The plug in will allow the administrator to associate key words with individual banners and state how many banners will be displayed.

The administrator will control the plug in from with in the standard Wordpress administration panel.

The plugin must be fully compatible with Wordpress 2.9.2 upwards

Administration Requirements

===========================

1) Administrator can chose how many adverts will be displayed in the right hand sidebar

2) Administrator can enter any number of keywords or phrases that trigger the display of an advert. More than one keyword or phrase may trigger the display with each to be seperated by a comma.

3) Administrator can select if keyword is triggered by the article title, within the body text or both.

4) Some adverts will not be triggered by keywords but will be displayed on all pages - user can slect this yes or no.

5) Some adverts will not be triggered by keywords but will be displayed on pages with a user specified URL.

6) Administrator can select the order in which adverts are displayed

Advert Specifications

1) Adverts can be banners adverts, or consist of Javascript code, or be a PHP include file.

2) Administrator can add the URL to a banner image, the alt text for the banner and the destination URL for the hyperlink.

3) if the advert is Javascript, a text box must be provided to allow admin to enter the javascript

4) If the advert is a PHP include file, a text box must allow admin to enter the path to the include file.

The Deliverable

=============

A file containing PHP scripts and MySQL commands to auto install and configure the plugin using standard Wordpress plugin installation routines.

The plugin will contain code to control and display the adverts in the right hand sidebar according to the admin settings, and code to create and manage the administrative interface for use within the standard Wordpress administrative area.
