I would like to easily create a multimedia quiz with a mixture of randomly selected question types (true/false, multiple choice, ordering, etc.). You can use the Hot Potatoes software as the base ([url removed, login to view]). The following question types are required; 1) Multiple-choice (up to 7 choices) (one answer), 2) Multiple-choice (up to 7 choices) (more than one answer), 3) Matching (up to 7 items from row A to row B) 4) Ordering (up to 7 items from row A) 5) Gap fill exercises (up to 7 gaps). 6) True/false My students will run the quizzes from their PC at home. I will need two versions. Administrator version: 1. Randomize of the order in which the questions and answers appear. 2. Quiz timer on/off button, and the ability to set the amount of time allowed for each quiz. 3. Control to select the number of questions displayed from up to 1000+ per quiz. 4. Control to select which quizzes the student will be able to run. 5. Control to turn on and off explanations to the answers 6. Questions to be held in a secured encrypted database (pref Access) 7. Ability to import questions from formatted a text/excel file 8. Questions & answers can not be cut/pasted or printed from screen 9. Ability to create many quizzes each with around 1000 questions. 10. Set the number of questions displayed per page (1 to 10). 11. Enter points for each answer. Students Version: The student version must be a cut down version of the Administrator version containing everything required to install and run just the quizzes on the students’ machine. To prevent copying of the quiz between students, the student version must work only on the installed PC. Of primary importance is the quality of the user interface. The quality of the Hot Potatoes user interface or better is required.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
I am imagining a VB6 developed system which runs on Windows 98, ME, NT or 2000, XP etc. However, a web solution (ASP/Access running on W2K Adv Serv) will be considered. Clearly the specification will change slightly dependant on the final solution.
