The basic idea is that we need to add Nutritional data to each recipe on the site, and it needs to be displayed in a standard label format. - We Need this for our overdue site relaunch this month.
I thought about it and I realized that while many recipes would be able to be copied/pasted and edited easily, some recipes would need experienced chefs to look at it and decide what to do when ingredients came up that were not in the USDA database. So, I created this video outlining a web-based, non-wordpress management system that would read the data from wordpress and allow people to edit that data as well as track:
1) which recipes were left to do
2) which recipes were done
3) which recipes needed an expert to look at
That's all in this video: [url removed, login to view]
So, that's where we are at currently - but now we are running late and need to get this done quickly. We might need to put something solid together and then refine it further next month.
NOTE: USDA Nutritional Database can be downloaded from this site:[url removed, login to view]
Over the past few months I have created several videos trying to explain this project.
The first one just goes into the concept and explains the end result as well as maybe a method of getting that result: [url removed, login to view]
As I thought about it more, I realized that there could be many ways to do this, and I illustrated one. That's in this video: [url removed, login to view]
**NOTE: Initially I just wanted our team to generate some more ideas about how to accomplish this but they felt that my idea was good enough, except that they suggested just copy/pasting each item from the nutritional label into the short code. I was very reluctant to have that much room for errors. This is important information to get correct, so I created this video explaining what I thought might be an alternate way of getting the data: [url removed, login to view]
