Replace function in ANSI C under UNIX

A program called replace that has the following syntax replace file oldstring [newstring] Command line parameters in []'s are optional. replace file oldstring will delete all instances of oldstring found in file. replace file oldstring newstring will replace all instances of oldstring with newstring in file. If an incorrect number of command line parameters are included then replace will print syntax instructions showing how to use it. printf("\nSyntax : replace filename oldstring [newstring]\n"); printf("Will replace all instances of oldstring with newstring in\n"); printf("the nominated file.\n"); printf("If newstring is not included then oldstring is deleted.\n"); E.g. replace [login to view URL] ABC Will delete all instances of ABC from [login to view URL] C treats command lines in quotes as strings. So replace [login to view URL] " " X Will replace all spaces with X's in myfile.txt. q When creating the program I need load the file into a linked list. q Once loaded I will then find all oldstrings and replace them with newstring. q I will then write the linked list back to the file and make sure I have free'd all allocated memory. Since this is a proper UNIX utility program I am creating do not waste time writing fancy messages to the screen. The program should do its job with a minimum of fuss.
