I'm currently working on a website for college students to buy, sell, and trade textbooks online for free rather than going through buybacks with the book stores and losing a lot of money every semester. I've got almost all of the graphics done and have started working on the html and css coding. What I need from you is a programmer to add in some features which I have no idea how to go about creating. The site will have the following features:
- Book Store Accounts (they will have to pay to be on the site)
- Post a Listing
- Search Listings
- Premium Posting for a small fee which appears above standard free listings in searches
- Feedback for Users
Under Accounts it will have standard information and also a feedback area, current books searching for area, current books for sale, university they attend, whether they prefer local transactions only or are willing to ship their goods.
Searches will have a search for new/used/all, search area of my campus/within xx or zip code xxxxx, book isbn number/title/author/editor/edition, price range, condition of excellent/great/good/fair, and for sale by book stores/private sellers/all sellers.
Search Results will have the premium listings listed first and labeled as so. Each listing will have a picture, price, distance from you, compare checkbox, and some basic info. Users can choose to modify search, save search, create an alert when no items are added to their search, compare the selected items, edit the listings per page, and sorted by.
The closest way I can describe this project is an autotrader clone with a feedback section as well and a few more small features...but with books rather than cars.
One thing I am big on is going to be a user friendly administrative panel that I can use. The only administrative panel for a website I have used before is mybboard, and I love it. I think it's great to use and gets everything done perfectly. In the admin panel for this site I would like to be able to view accounts, edit information, delete accounts, ban IP addresses, delete and edit listings, change general settings, etc.
Once bids are done being submitted I will contact the programmers I like the most and send all of the graphics and already coded material to make sure you are able and willing to do the job.
Please have examples of previous work with user accounts.
