I require a skilled PHP programmer and CSS/Stylesheet expert who has plenty of experience with editing the PHP Probid auction room software including system e-mails, querying the sites MySQL database and editing the look and feel of the site.
I have a fully installed PHP ProBid Site (hosted on Windows Server 2003/IIS) that has been skinned and had an additional MP3 upload mod written and installed…all by PHPProbid.
The site has been going through rigorous testing over the last 3 months and the majority of issues have been resolved but there are still a few key issues that are still outstanding and taking too long to get resolved by PHPProbid. I'm trying to launch the site as a matter of urgency and have run out of patience with their attitude and the amount of time it take them to resolve anything.
The key to this for me is time and attitude, the biggest problem I have with PHPProBid is their slow response and blasé attitude to resolving bug fixes. I therefore need the work carried out as quickly and as professionally as possible, subsequently if any issues are discovered with the amended code I will need these rectified as soon as possible.
My timeline for completion of the project is 7 day's I don't expect there to be 7 day's worth of work, the 7 day's includes UAT of the new code and rectifying any issues that are found.
I have several other pieces of work/projects coming up in the near future (for the same site), a couple that are simply adding some new features and enhancing the content displayed in various system e-mails. The other is a migration of the entire site (including my Mod and Skin) from [url removed, login to view] to v6.
I can see the version upgrade being quite a large project, basically if I'm happy with the quality of work, attitude and the time it takes to complete for this project I will have no hesitation in handing the other projects over to the developer I've used for this piece of work.
Please contact me if you have any questions, please also provide any links to PHPProBid sites you have worked on in the past when you post a quote.
1) CSS/StyleSheet Updates
There are a few CSS/Stylesheet updates I need doing to the skin, the majority of these have been completed but there are a few that aren't consistent throughout the site. I can't see this being a large chunk of the work as most of them have been nailed, but there are still a few to get sorted to get the look and feel spot on throughout the site. These are mostly ensuring the url links are the same throughout the site, any mouse over animation and colour changes are the same etc. etc.
I can provide a full list of the CSS/Stylesheet amendments when required.
2) Bug with E-Mail Auction to a Friend System E-Mail
This is reproducible 100%of the time and is the only system e-mail that is displaying problems. As yet PHPProBid have been unable to find a fix…I believe to be down to lack of effort not that it's anything particularly hard to fix, I just need someone to spend a bit of quality time investigating this issue.
Basically you enter in the recipients email address and details on the website form, click submit and nothing…the site returns a blank page and the e-mail recipient never receives the auction details from the site.
When the site is sending this e-mail correctly there was also a 2nd bug with this feature that I will need fixing, this was down to any ' (apostrophes) that were entered in the send to friend form, being replaced with / in the body of the email when the recipient received it.
3) Voucher Redemption Bug
Generate auction setup discount vouchers from Admin section of site, when you then try to redeem the voucher as a visitor to the site there are 2 problems;
a) Discount voucher codes not being applied to setup fee when entered at beginning of auction creation, makes no difference to setup fee charged by site when you come to pay your auction set-up fee, it's still the full price.
b) If you don't pay the auction setup fee when you create your auction but try to pay the fee at a later date, Login > Members > Opened Auctions and follow pay setup fee link, the discount is still not being carried through to the fee the site wants to charge.
4) Submitting a Wanted Ad
Few issues with the Wanted Ad section of the site;
a) The embedded text editor used on this page is not the same one that is used throughout the site, this enhanced editor has problems with applying CSS attributes to text you enter…they were all supposed to have been swapped out with a basic editor but this one seems to have been missed. I will require this to be swapped out and the text Editor that is used when creating an auction inserted in it's place.
b) The 'Choose Category' dropdown on this page has the options listed in no order at all, the options are all over the show, please list categories in this list in the same order as they appear on the main category menu.
c) On Wanted Ad's submission page...the button to submit the Wanted Ad has 'Modify' on it which doesn't make sense as your Submitting an ad not modifying one...I will need this changed to 'Submit'.
