Howdy! I'm a graduate student in dire need of someone with data mining skills. I have entered all my data in to Access, managed to convert it to SPSS (using Excel), but I can't use SPSS for the life of me. Perhaps there was a mistake in translation. Likely the Access database is the best thing to try to mine. I am looking for any kind of correlation between the data (eg - are Zagros sites more likely to have floor depositions than Urfa sites). I created 'combo boxes' for each type of datum (for example: under Geographic Location there are ten possibilities that can be chosen from the drop-down box, each is correlated with a number to assist manipulation, but these are NOT numerical variables). There are 17 kinds of data (I think they're called tables), each with multiple possibilites. There are some blanks. I'm looking for any kind of correlation between types of data, and, if possible, its statistical significance. I've run a few chi-square tests, but I can't get beyong a 2x2 square, as I am positively hopeless at math. I think a Fischer exact test must be done in some cases, as some fields have n < 5. Again, I'm not sure what the overlap is here between data mining and statistics.
