This can be done in either Microsot Access, C# compiled app or Delphi.
I need an app developed that will take a template HTMLfile with Macro/Template tags i.e [field1] [field2] etc and merge it with a database.
At first I was thinking of getting this done as a Microsoft Access VBA but this can be done as a complied EXE using VB, # or Delphi.
Utlimately I would like to be able to specifiy:
[QT1: database/queryname] ' specify the database/query name (either Access or SQL Server or MySQL)
[QT1rows: 1] ' specify the number of rows to output
[QT1:fieldname] ' outputs the contents from fieldname
[QT1: fieldname2] ' outputs the contents from the next field
[QT1rows:next] 'to specify the end of the block cycle
[QT2:database/queryname] ' specify the next database/query to cycle through and output records for. The idea is to output records that relate to QT1
[QTrows:10] ' cycle through 10 records form the query/table
[QT2:fieldname] ' outputs the contents from fieldname
[QT2: fieldname2] ' outputs the contents from the next field
[QT2rows:next] 'to specify the end of the block cycle
It would be good to be able to specify the SQL or query within the macro's for the data that relates to QT1 from QT2. Ultimiately I would like to be able to have as many QTx as possible.
If you have better ideas of how to specify or go about this please post a PM and let me know. Essentially I want to be able to parse a database through an HTML template (master and detail (related to master) records) and output static HTML pages.
Thank you
Michael
