I have an ecommerce website. I am using Cre_Loaded which I dont think is relevant here. Maybe though. My distributor releases an update of inventory only once every year. As a result products are bought on my site are out of stock frequently. When I called the company they said the only thing I can do now is currently check the website to see if the product is available. But I have around 2500 products so I can not do this for each one.
I have started a PHP script that will scrape content from the distributors and add the info to 2 different excels. If the product is out of stock. Add the product name, sku, Availability (Data "Out of Stock"), and URL to an excel file. If the product is in stock check to see if the product has multiple Pieces/Pkgs with it. If there are no Pieces/Pkgs, do nothing. If there are..ad the Sku, Product Name, # of Pieces, Price, and URL. I already have set up the file to actually scrape the info. Basically what I need is someone to...
Setup the array to take each URL from the excel list (or add the URLs to a mysql list. This may be easier, your choice. Then actually add what was requested above to the proper excel file.
As I said I have basically all the scraping done. Just need the code to add all info results to excel. and the array to do the process for every URL in the excel list. I started the code for adding to excel, but it does not edit the file, it creates a new one. You can create a new function or edit the one i already made, your choice.
I can def do this mysql, as you'll see from the code. But its finals time here at school and im short for time. But this project should not take long at all. Even adding the excel file to mysql for extraction should be quick (if you decide to do so). Please let me know how you plan use the URL list into the code...thanks.
