PHP Event Calendar User Submission used w/ Mambo/Phpnuke

I am debating on using Mambo or PHP-Nuke.
If I use Php-Nuke the template will be: [url removed, login to view]
Basically this add-on must be able to be incorporated into php-nuke/mambo...
The PHP Calendar must take submissions and let users modifiy it also.
It must run on the same principle as:

*Please register for the site and play around with it before bidding.
The Calendar will be placed in the homepage and a link will be on the left for users to submit/edit.
This site will be dedicated to the SouthEast South Asian Community.
It is guranteed to be a large site.
You will be reimbursed by free ads and dedication to your site for helping us out. The site is and will be a non-profit site.

I do not want to make this a complicated project just want to make it easy for users to use.
If I don't need php-nuke/mambo then we can go that way.
I just need to be able to have forums/gallery/calendar/music streaming.
