This project is to build a website for a luxury hotel complex based in Antigua.
The sitemap is available and will show an overview of how the site will eventually be. Please note: many of the pages are marked 'coming soon' as we are still waiting on designs from the design company. It is anticipated that this will be an ongoing project whilst we await content and designs from the client. If you can provide an initial costing which is based on delivering the site to the point which is shown in the sitemap that will be fine.
A PDF is also available which shows how each page should be laid out. We anticipate the menu graphics, logo and text to sit on top of the background image (sample included). All images will be provided in jpeg format.
Another PDF shows the intro animation which we need to produce in Flash. The difficulty here is that it fades into the homepage which is going to be produced in HTML. The less than ideal solution is to have 2 versions of the homepage (one in Flash and one in HTML) but it would be much better to get around this if possible, and I'm open to suggestion here as to how we can do this.
The sitemap shows the booking engine link - currently we have no information on this at present so please don't worry about quoting for that yet. The floorplans section will be very similar (if not identical to the floorplans section on their current site: see [login to view URL] - username gareth & password gareth). You will have access to their existing website (the original Flash file) to strip out anything we can re-use. We plan on incorporating some aspects of Flash where it will be useful (e.g. to animate a sequence of photos) but this will be limited to a few pages. Obviously the price you quote will increase as more and more pages are required for the site - we fully understand this, and having worked with the client before we expect changes and alterations as we move forward so the chosen developer should expect this.
I imagine the chosen developer will build the site using PHP and split the file into includes (so we only call one menu file and one header file etc making updates easier).
The site will be built using CSS to control the page layouts. Obvious stuff but worth mentioning. The site does not require a CMS and so a database is not required although there are password protected areas (usernames and passwords can be stored in the code itself).
The site must conform to strict web standards throughout and must validate in the validator engines.
We are looking for a development partner who is easy to work with, friendly, flexible, and fast. We are looking for someone who can understand and speak English well. The chosen partner will benefit from a lasting relationship with us as we are a busy company with lots of work to pass to the right person.
These are the terms for working on this project:
1. The final website will be owned entirely by the client. 2. This project is highly confidential and all materials are also confidential - please do not distribute them to anyone.
3. The website will not include any logo or credit to the developer who works on the project.
4. The chosen developer will agree not to showcase or reference this project on their website.
5. The developer will liaise with us on the project at all times.
6. The developer will provide regular updates as the project progresses.
If you have any questions relating to this project please ask. We are a friendly, professional company which has an established client base in the U.K. and an excellent reputation. We are looking for a long-term partner not just for this project, but for many others too. If you feel you can deliver the skills and experience we require please get in touch.
Thank you.
