The Cookie Law is a new piece of privacy legislation that requires websites to obtain consent from visitors to store or retrieve any information on a computer via a cookie.
By default a Joomla 1.5 website installs a session cookie into the users browser, under this new law, this cookie would need to be given permission by the user before it is allowed to be stored in the browser.
The Joomla template is also generating a cookie, which needs disabled if it does not effect the display of the template
I have been working on implementing this jQuery plugin - [url removed, login to view] - you can see a demo of it at the top of the page and downlaod it at the bottom.
I have successfully set this up on a standard html website, but I'm having difficulty integrating it into Joomla!
I can provide extra info on my working so far, if it helps complete the project.
So to summarise what I need:
1. Install JConsent plugin into Joomla Template
2. Disable Template cookie if its not required for the template to function.
3. Set the Joomla session cookie to only load if the user clicks the yes button on the jconsent popup toolbar. For guests only, the session must will still load for the admin area.
