This project is for the addition of a member maintainable "screen name" in phpFOX version 1.5.1. Bids will only be accepted from those who have experience working with phpFOX 1.5+ and have a demo site their code can be shown on prior to acceptance.
For this project we are looking for our members to be able to change their screen names seperately from their login name in phpFOX 1.5.1. Currently the login name is the screen name and they cannot be changed by the member community. Due to the number of places the screen name is referenced it may actually be easier to look at this project in the reverse and make changes to the security modules so that they reference a "login name" field instead. Once the security portions of the code were no longer looking at the username field currently in the table a change to the account management screen could be made so that the username could be changed by the user.
While we are modifying this portion of the code we would also like to slightly redesign the signup pages for phpFOX 1.5.1. We would of course need to add the field so the user could input their "screen name" that we've added. We'd also like to add immediate verification via AJAX to the username and "screen name" fields so that if they are already taken in the database the user would be prompted as such and offered some suggestions of variations of that name that are available. The variations offered should be stored in an array that is maintainable as well. For instance offer the user the name they input plus a numberic digit or something similar.
We would also like to see the location input areas of the signup screen reworked a bit. Currently the user is asked for country, city, state, then zip. What we would like to see is the country field default to the United States as this is where most of our users come from. If the country is United States then we would like to have the Zip Code be the first field you fill in and have the City and State fields auto fill immediately based on a table lookup of the zip code.
Timing for this project is critical and we need to have it completed and ready for testing by August 10th.
Code should be clean and well commented and the code becomes the sole property of the buyer.
We are posting a number of projects over the next few days and looking for a qualified programmer or two to tackle these projects as well as other ongoing development needs.
We look forward to your bids.
