PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS AS NECESSARY. I shall be offline for 2-3 days, which is why I made it open for 10 days. So questions submitted will be answered - just please wait until Thursday. Proposals should state whether you can complete everything, or what may not be done. Any references etc would be interesting.
I am looking for someone who is fully conversant in Drupal and it's potential. Over the past few days I have quickly become quite familiar with the program, as well as seeing some sites that were set up using it, however there is little doubt to know everything about it and the possibilities (with modules, code snippets etc already existing and a few of your own) is a steeper learning curve and without doubt more time consuming.
Sites like digg and [url removed, login to view] achieve things I like (fresqui is drupal based with a fair amount of customisation). I am NOT wanting to copy the ‘bookmarking’ mission of sites. However, whilst there is design and vision on the part of the people at fresqui, for the most part they use open source software so I am not too concious of drawing from their site - particularly as they merely visualise ideas and features that I myself have already wished to implement and for which the modules/scripts freely exist.
I wish for users to post their own stuff, upload their own photos, maybe/less likely some will embed a video - so the elements included on the fresqui submission page for content (‘noticia propia’) are good. I also like the parent category homepages with the 'tab' division of (with ‘mix’ being the mix of the 3) although digg and others do the same thing. I like dynamic voting (although I prefer thumbs up/down a la digg) as well as the ability to block/hide offensive postings and users. This fresqui site implements some nice web 2.0 functionality although I prefer the post/comment voting style of digg. I like tags and the popular tags box on the parent category homepages. I am not too fussed about fresqui’s thickbox use or the expand/collapse story (via +/-sign). If that can give you an impression of visual design and functionality then I better give you some idea about the use of my site - after all I am not trying to duplicate the mentioned sites. Template & functionality are close however I am not interested in external content, my users will post their content.
