Vehicle tracking website to view vehicles' location / historical trips / current status.
Project needs to be finished... yesterday.
Need a moderately skilled PHP programmer to fix existing bugs, implement a feature or two.
Existing code and MS-SQL database provided.
Approximately 4 files need to be edited, the rest of the files are part of the EXT Core framework / open-source AJAX helpers / DB adapters etc.
Only this first phase are crucial, but if the candidate proves his competency, he will have the opportunity to continue working on future phases should he be willing.
Bugs / Improvements:
Data loads too slow (client side processing / rendering might not be optimal, caching of static data can be improved, laze loading can possibly be implemented better, possible better use of AJAX for improved user experience)
User login / authentication (login page there, just need to implement a trip-des authentication algorithm)
CRUD user settings (currently saved in db as JSON strings, so needs to read, updated by user, persist to db again)
Manage zones / geo-fence's. Map / DB integration.
Most of the reports done, need one or two more (query db and output HTML table)
No official spec is available, but an existing fully working website (same company) can and should be used as reference, since your task would be to make this website almost identical to the existing one (same owner, but the original author / source code for the current site not available anymore)
*Proof of experience on similar technologies would be required.
