As of now, I need someone to implement a self check system, where the script checks for duplicate files in the mysql database, deletes them, Also cross check the mysql with the directory of files to make sure no non-existent files are around. I have some files on the site that do not even exist because I deleted them and the script does not remove them. This needs to be automated or a page with a run button is fine.

The trick here is to actually track which one was already processed. Would need db access or at least the structure. Looking forward hearing from you.
I thought, to delete the duplication in the database, what you need is a statement of sql and several lines of PHP, that will satisfy your need.
