Magento Site - Updates to homepage

I am building a photography site the sells prints. The development site is here: [login to view URL]
I need to make a few changes to get it to match the design I put together: [login to view URL]
Changes are:
1. Add the images/titles under the categories section. Under the 'Categories' heading on the home page there should be links to the current categories. The image should be the one that is assigned in that admin section and the title should be the same title as set in the admin section. These should be dynamically put on the page. So if a new category is added it should automatically appear on the home page. Clicking on the image should take the user to the category page with the list of products.
2. On the top right next to 'LOG IN' add a link called 'SALE ITEMS' that will open a product page with all the products that are on sale.
3. Edit the bottom menu to match the items in the design:
FAQ ARTIST INFO JOIN OUR MAILING LIST SHOW DATES ARTIST'S BLOG CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
Create a blank page for each menu item and link to them.
