I have a website in Magento version 126.96.36.199. I would like to upgrade to the latest version 188.8.131.52. My site has approx 7000 products and 10000 customers in the database. Site uses 3 Magento extensions which are all compatible with Magento 1.7 so I do not anticipate any problems there. I have made a few minor changes to some of the Magento core files myself but these are really simple changes which I managed to do myself and I am in no way a programmer. I have kept a list of the core files which I changed. I have had one major piece of custom development to add Gift Registry system to my store. This allows a customer to compile a list of items from our store that they wish to receive as gifts (typically for a wedding/engagement). They then hand this out to family and friends to access their registry on our site and purchase goods for the gift registry owner. Just look up "Gift Registry" on Wikipedia if you are unsure. The Gift Registry system has been developed (by another developer) for my existing Magento store and is working in well in my current version of Magento (184.108.40.206). However after the upgrade, I do not know how the gift registry system will be affected as some of the core files were changed and also some new fields have been added to the standard Magento database. Your job will be to replicate the same system to work in Magento 220.127.116.11 and fix any errors/bugs which may arise. I do have a list of core files which were changed by the previous developer. You could either start with a fresh Magento install and then replicate the system by using code from my current site or take a copy of my current site, perform the upgrade and fix any errors which may arise. You will need to be available on Skype for verbal communications throughout the job so must have strong English language skills.
