(I'm reposting this under a previous account I had years ago because I was unaware it was against the Scriptlance TOS)
I'd like to have a script that will allow to submit links related to a certain topic. The information that is submitted is Headline, URL, Description, Short Description. There will also be a password required to submit these links.
The output will consist of a listing of the links by ordered added. It will display the Headline that will link to the URL (in a new window), the description on the next line, the date/time added and the number of views it's had. Automatically, on the full listing page, it will separate the links on each day. So when the server time strikes midnight, it'll automatically start a new section for the next days links.
A sample: [url removed, login to view] Ignore the right/left columns, the icon and category in front of each listing. A 'star' system to show popularity would be nice, also.
The main admin panel was described above in that I add the headline, URL, description, short description and password, however, I would like administrative options to set the variables for the stars. For instance, 1 star is shown after 100 views, 2 stars after 200, etc. (Or you can just show me where to set this in a config file. That's fine).
The short description will consist of 'x' characters. Say 100 or 125 of them - depending on how many will fit on one single line once I get the output layout setup the way I want. Below or next to the Short Description blank, I'd like a counter to show the number of characters I've already typed in. It will count down from 'x' of course. And I can change this in a config file somewhere, also.
Also, in the site I'm developing, I'm going to have a page that lists all the news items - say, 40 per page with an option to view 'Last 3 Days' and 'Last 7 Days.'
I'm also wanting to include the last 'x' links in a block on the front page of the site (which is a PostNuke CMS installation - but I figure I can just use the 'include' statement). This block will only display the Headline and short description.
I think that's it. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
