My php site has sometimes 100 people online at once. When someone performs BROWSE for instance, or looks at a profile, or sees a photo from a gallery, etc. the photo is generated using [url removed, login to view] file. Some pages may have more than 30 user images.
This is probably causing more strain than necessary since the [url removed, login to view] file is used so often.
From now on I would like for images to be thumbnailed (have static images created) so that we no longer have to rely on the [url removed, login to view] to dynamically generate each photo.
In other words, when someone uploads a photo, it should have a thumbnail size created, and another one or two sizes created.
Then all of the code throughout the site needs to be updated to point to the static urls and no longer dynamic urls.
Keep in mind that once you make the switch over, most images do not currently have static images so you will need to make a way to either allow for both images for the time being, or take the site down for a few hours and create thumbnails from the images.
