I need a small adjustment to a formula for instant quotes on my auto transport site.
The formula is currently set to calculate the price per mile for total distance traveled. Example:
0 to 100 miles $[url removed, login to view]
101 to 150 miles $[url removed, login to view]
151 to 200 miles $[url removed, login to view], etc
The problem is that with the formula constructed this way, It is using the rate for the miles input which makes a big disparity in cost between, for example, 100 and 105 miles as 105 miles requires a lower price in this equation than 100 miles. The rate here would be $175 for $100 miles and only $162.50 for 105 miles...not good!
I need the formula to be able to calculate 0 to 100 miles for example at $1.75.(or whatever I input) Then 101 to 150 miles (or whatever I input) at $1.75 for the first 100 miles and then $1.50 per mile for 101 to 150 then $1.00 per mile for the next 100 miles, etc, etc. all the way to 3300 miles. The current formula should be able to be a simple adjustment in the current admin panel.
