Hello, This should be a quick and easy job for someone with a good knowledge of PHP and Gallery 2. I have several servers running Gallery 2.01. I need three scripts written which will make logging in easier for my users. As it stands now, they need to know which server they are on before they can log in. I want to centralize the login process so they can go to one location and log in regardless of which server they are on. How It will work: Script 1: A copy of this script will be placed in the base Gallery directory on all 3 servers. The script will have variables to hold the MySQL info so it can access the database for that server. It will also have a built-in secret key defined as a variable. The function of this script is very simple. It accepts external http requests that specify a username and the secret key (not the user's password). It checks that the secret key is correct, then if the username exists on that server, it will return a "Yes" and the registration date. If the username does not exist on that server, it will return a "No". If the secret key is incorrect, or there is an error of any type, it will return "error". Script 2: This will be installed at the central login location (a fourth server). It will have the URL's of the 3 copies of the above script defined in an array. It will ask for a username and password, or accept those variables being passed to it from an HTML form or from script 3 below. When it receives the user info, it will poll the 3 gallery servers by http request and it will ask each server if that username exists. It does include the secret key as a small layer of security but does not send the user's password. If one servers responds that the username does exist, it will redirect the username and password to that gallery's login url as an http post with their username and password info to be processed by that server. If two or more servers report that the user exists, it will display a page showing the multiple registration dates for that username on different servers, allow them to select which date they registered on (as a radio button selection), then redirect their login info to be processed by the correct server. The last function of this script will be to process requests from script 3 below. Script 3: This can be a standalone script but will probably be modification of the existing gallery code as per your suggestions. It will be a "checker" for the user self-registration screen on any of the gallery installations. When someone signs up for a user account it will send a request to script 2 to see if the requested username exists on any of the 3 servers. If it does already exist, it will create an error in the registration screen telling them to pick a new username. Although three gallery servers are in use now, the script should work the same if additional gallery servers are added, by adding the url to the array in script 2. ---------------------------------------- Requirements: This project must be written in PHP and completed in full within 14 days of accepting the job, and payment will be made in full upon completion. I will reserve the ownership of the code in full. The script must be completed in your own development environment, as access will not be given to the live sites. I can supply you with a copy of Gallery 2.01 if needed. Progress reports should be made regurlarly during the process. I will be happy to answer questions, review code or discuss development methods as needed.
