First of all, please don't post generic bids. I don't want to see your portfolio of 300 links. Please do make an intelligent bid with some sort of description that shows you understand my project... an appropriate PMB post never hurts! I don't care if you've done hundreds of jobs at SL, or if this is your first. Please do bid appropriately - a smart coder can probably knock this out in a couple of hours. I personally do a lot of coding in php, but the needed logic for this is escaping me. Some sort of sports knowledge might be helpful, but is not strictly necessary.
Here's the deal: I have a fantasy/electronic baseball site, and I'd like to get a schedule generated. I don't care if you write me a "smart" piece of code, or if you simply give me a spreadsheet with a completed schedule - either will be fine.
My leagues have 30 teams each, divided as follows: two subleagues (like the American and National leagues in major league baseball), six divisions (three in each subleague), five teams per division.
A team should play each team in its own division 6 times, each team in its own subleague 2 times, and each team in one division of the other subleague 2 times. For clarity, let's put it like this:
AL West (5 teams), AL Central (5 teams), AL East (5 teams)
NL West (5 teams), NL Central (5 teams), NL East (5 teams)
So, a team in the AL West should play all AL West teams 6 times, all other AL teams 2 times, and all teams in the NL West 2 times, for a total of 54 scheduled series.
The trick is, for obvious reasons, no team can play more than one opponent on any given day, and all games must be filled, with none left over. Can you do this?
Again, I'll be glad to take php code to do this, a spreadsheet with the final results, or any other usable variation you can come up with!
