137865 Quick MOD_REWRITE Fix

I am in need of a quick MOD_REWRITE fix from someone. I have a simple script programmed for a new website I'm designing, and I want to include mod_rewrite so that the URL's are cleaner.

I'm storing categories and articles within those categories in a database. I have PHP pages to display the category info and articles ([url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] respectively)

Here is what I have setup and what I want to do:

The site has several catagories and articles.

I want the URL's to display this way:

[url removed, login to view]

when it's on a particular category page

[url removed, login to view]

when it's on the article page.

The site is setup as such:

on the Index page it will list all of the categories that are listed in a MYsql database. When someone clicks on one of the categories listed on the Index page it will direct the visitor to the above example [url removed, login to view]

Once the visitor reaches the category page there will be a list of the articles for that category pulled from the MYsql database. When a visitor clicks on one of the article titles they will be redirected to [url removed, login to view]

The key is I want to use the category name from the database to be used as well as the article title without adding any characters etc. to it. This is where I'm running into trouble..
