I have a series of three sequential PHP functions that perform a series of simple manipulations on data that comes from 2 mySQL tables. The functions are each easily described as php "while" loops, and currently at the end of each loop, data is written to another table for use by the next function (for instance, function 1 reads from table A and writes to table B, function 2 reads from table B and writes to table C...).
I know that, like a kid who can't do math in their own head, the constant writing to the tables is dumb, and someone who understands how to manipulate arrays and objects would be able to do all three functions and then just write everything all at once. The current function takes about 3000ms and I have a belief it can easily get beneath 500ms.
If provided with the php code and mySQL tables, this should only take a good PHP programmer a tiny bit of time to speed up.
