I'm not sure how feasible this is based on our budget, but I would like to guage the cost nonetheless.
We're a NYC rock band starting to build a following. We've gone through several incarnations of our website, but as our vision gets bigger, we have less and less time to devote to the website. So...
Our vision for the website embodies punk and folk elements i.e. bohemian, laidback, introspective. The idea for the intro to the website is that you're approaching an old house/building. The main page would be a living room with your typical elements: couch, coffee table, TV--but with punk/folk elements. Hovering over certain items would lead to different sections, such as photos, schedule, news, etc. You would also be able to enter different parts of the house to view other aspects of the band.
The key elements needed in the website are: news, band bio, shows (future and past dates), songs, flyers, contact info, mailing list sign-up.
The only website I can think of with a comparable vision is [url removed, login to view], but not as cartoony and without all the extras like games.
I realize it might be a pipe dream to get someone to develop a site for us that meets all our criteria for under $300 (especially since we would need to be able to update it), but I figure it's worth a shot.
It's worth pointing out that if push came to shove, I would take some days off of work to do a decent job on this, since I am Flash-savvy. I just don't really have the time for it and I'm not as good with some of the database aspects necessary for the e-mail form.
Either way, let me know what can be done with this. Thanks.
